Early Childhood Education and Care is an important step for young children and is strongly recommended for all children.
Research shows that an early childhood program improves children’s health and wellbeing, helps them to develop strong social skills and encourages a love of learning. Children who go to an early Childhood program are more independent and confident and are more likely to make a smooth transition to primary school.
A high-quality early childhood program will offer your child a range of learning experiences and activities that are both stimulating and fun. Your child’s learning and curiosity will be encouraged through experiences and activities, such as exploring the natural world, being exposed to new ideas and solving problems.
Sandhurst Catholic Early Childhood Education & Care Limited is committed to the safety, participation and empowerment of all children.
LATEST NEWS A community blessing for Dr Harry Little Preschool Bendigo
Monday 13 October 2025
Dr Harry Little Preschool Bendigo was formally welcomed into the Sandhurst Catholic Early Childhood Education and Care Limited (SCECE&C Ltd) community on Monday 13 October 2025, with a gathering held on-site to mark the occasion.
The event was hosted by SCECE&C Chief Early Childhood Officer Carla Jeffrey and Catholic Education Sandhurst Limited (CESL) Deputy Director: Mission and Education Development Darta Hovey, with Fr Jackson Saunders leading a blessing for the preschool, its staff, children and families.
Families from the preschool attended the event with many staying to enjoy light refreshments. Children were especially pleased with the balloons, cake and monogrammed biscuits. Several local Catholic school principals and staff from SCECE&C Ltd and CESL were also present.
While SCECE&C Ltd officially assumed governance of the preschool earlier this year, the event provided an opportunity to formally acknowledge the transition and welcome the preschool into the broader Sandhurst early childhood network.
Carla said the welcome was an important moment for the community.
“This was a chance to recognise the preschool’s long-standing contribution to early learning in Bendigo and to affirm our commitment to supporting its continued success,” she said.
The preschool continues to operate with its existing staff and remains focused on delivering high-quality, inclusive early childhood education for local families.
